About 1pm I went to the shop. My car was sitting exactly where it had been left on Friday. I went inside and asked a guy about it. He said that the man I'd spoke to on Friday was working on it but hadn't found the problem. "He's gone for the day. He'll call you back tomorrow."
Ben Smith and his (supposed to be retired, but loves the garage too much) Dad have been the mechanics I count on for over 10 years. They are honest, reliable, affordable, and genuinely excellent mechanics.
Well, Id' already been told twice that he would call me and he didn't. So I had my car towed, again, to Reiter's Automotive. In 10 minutes he found the problem, the main fuse that was bad. Thirty minutes later was car was fixed and for only $40.
It is my opinion that the folks at Smith's didn't even look at my car. If they did and couldn't find that the main fuse was blown, then I still wouldn't go back to them. If they had told me from the beginning, it will be at least Thursday before we look at it, that would have been OK. But when I'm told twice that they'll call me back and don't, that's unacceptable.
Smith auto service has always provided me with excellent service (12yrs.+) even when he had his shop on First & Franklin. Friendly Certified mechanic(s) with reasonable prices.
Great amazing quality sevice at good resonable prices. They do not add extra services. Great at communication. Well tell you if some things can wait or if they need attention right away.
Great people to work with find the root cause of issues and do very thorough work will definitely keep bringing them business

My car wouldn't start. Tried jumping it and even the interior lights wouldn't come on. I had it towed to Smith's Service last Friday. He said he'd call me Monday. No call Monday, or Tuesday. Finally on Wednesday morning I called him. Woman said that he was busy and he'd call me back.
